We’re an Essential Service

We at Day & Ross want to assure you that the transportation and movement of goods are deemed essential services, and our operations continue and facilities remain open. We continue to increase our hygiene and sanitization activities, as well as modify our delivery processes to minimize interactions between individuals. We appreciate your business and your cooperation.

Home Delivery Services

We continue to offer the following home delivery services:

  • Threshold deliveries (first point of entry or closest to home) based on scheduled appointments. Instead of asking customers to handle and sign the handheld device, drivers type the name of the customer receiving the delivery and enter "CV" in place of a signature.
  • "No Signature" (NS) service.

Hold for Pickup (HFPU)

  • No-touch Hold for Pickup (HFPU) service is available at all terminals. Customers will be required to complete the COVID-19 screening document when they arrive on site.

Modified Process for Shippers

As the COVID-19 situation continues to evolve, some businesses are closing or modifying their hours, which may impact our ability to deliver shipments. We are asking shippers to confirm that the consignee is open and available to accept shipments. If delivery is unable to be made as a result of a provincially mandated or extended closures related to COVID-19, or if no appointment can be facilitated, the freight will be returned to the point of origin at expense of the original “bill-to  account. We continue to work with consignees to make delivery arrangements in all other scenarios where freight was unable to be delivered (ex. reduced receiving hours).

Protecting Our Teams

We want to assure you that we continue to implement pandemic response plans to keep our day-to-day operations running smoothly and without major disruptions. The health and well-being of our people, partners and customers remains top of mind and our highest priority.

All of our operations are currently operating at full capacity, and we are working to ensure that the supply chain for delivery of your freight will not be affected. Our national, integrated terminal network in all Canadian provinces allows for flexible operational contingency plans. We have a broad range of activities underway to protect our teams and the resiliency of our operations. Read more details here: https://dayross.com/covid19-safe-practices
